FASHION

Fashion, a general term for style prevalent at a given time, with a reference to costume or clothing style. Fashion plates evolved during the Industrial revolution for a broad cross culture looking at clothing and its place in society.  The terms fashionista or fashion victim refers to someone who slavishly follows the current fashion. All of this was adapted from the western culture to India. Of course media made it more fascinating from Hollywood and Bollywood. The fashion world not only covers clothing but also accessories and decorative pieces. Earlier it was just about clothing but now it is bags, watches, sunglasses, pins, jewelry, hats, belts etc. Accessories add color, style and class to an outfit, and create a certain look, but they may also have practical functions. Handbags are for carrying small necessary items, hats protect the face from weather elements, Laptops provide mobile connectivity and are used to increase work power and gloves keep the hands warm. Many accessories are produced by clothing design companies. However, there has been an increase in individuals creating their own brand name by designing and making their own label of accessories.
Fashion journalism is another interesting aspect today. There are a lot of perspectives where fashion journalism is dominating. People have become so conscious about the way they present themselves so there is news. Vogue, founded in the US in 1892, has been the longest-lasting and most successful of the hundreds of fashion magazines that have come and gone. Television coverage began in the 1950s with small fashion features. In the 1960s and 1970s, fashion segments on various entertainment shows became more frequent, and by the 1980s, dedicated fashion shows like Fashion-television started to appear. Despite television and increasing internet coverage, including fashion blogs, press coverage remains the most important form of publicity in the eyes of the industry. At the end of  it is mere “Show off” you got it just flaunt it.
